This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information about you when you visit our website, apply for our pilot programme, or use our platform.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Email address (when you submit a pilot application or contact form)
• Name and company name (when provided during onboarding)
• Communications you send us via email or chat

Information collected automatically:

• Browser type, operating system, and device type
• IP address and general geographic region
• Pages visited and time spent on this website
• Referral source (how you found us)

What we do NOT collect:

• We do not copy, store, or transmit the contents of your database
• We do not retain the raw data rows returned by queries run through our platform
• We do not sell your data to any third party, ever

3. How We Use Your Information

• To contact you about your pilot application and onboarding
• To send product updates and release notes (you may opt out at any time)
• To improve our product based on usage patterns and feedback
• To comply with legal obligations
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects.

4. Database Access & Your Business Data

When you connect a database to Claritect, we access it using read-only credentials you provide. Our platform:

• Reads your database schema (table names, column names, types) to understand your data structure
• Executes SQL queries generated by our AI on your database, on your infrastructure
• Returns aggregated or summarised results to generate your report
• Does not store raw query results beyond the duration of a single report session

Your database credentials are stored encrypted. We treat your business data as strictly confidential and will not use it for any purpose other than generating the reports you request.

5. Data Storage & Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including:

• Encryption of credentials and sensitive data at rest
• HTTPS-only data transmission
• Access controls limiting who within our team can access customer data
• Regular review of security practices

6. Third-Party Services

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate our platform:

• AI inference providers — to generate SQL queries and report commentary. We pass only the minimum necessary context (your question and schema metadata). No raw data rows are shared.
• Hosting and infrastructure providers — for platform deployment and uptime.
• Analytics — basic, privacy-respecting analytics to understand website traffic.

We do not share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.

7. Data Retention

We retain your contact information for as long as you are a customer or pilot participant, and for a reasonable period thereafter. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us (see Section 10). We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information ("right to be forgotten")
• Object to or restrict certain processing activities
• Data portability — receive your data in a structured format
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
